It's been almost exactly 10 years since I sold my JD 755 and I have been without a tractor ever since - until today. Well, technically until Thursday when my new GC2310 will be delivered. :D

I have spend a lot of time reading everything I could on TBN, talking with others, and once I narrowed down my list, visiting dealers in the area.

I was debating between the BX20 and the JD2305 - the size was right, the price was right, but the plastic was driving me nuts! I couldn't believe how these have changed in the past decade. Then I read about the MF2310 and decided to cast my net a bit farther.

So today I called around and then took a drive to check one out in person. The salesman was great, the price was fair, and in a few days I will join the 'with tractor' group.

Over the next few months I will add extra lights - and keep looking for other 'must have/should have' add-ons.

My thanks to all of you who didn't know it, but helped me immeasurably.

Gonna be a long wait...between now and Thursday AM.

Welcome! A relative newbie myself, I'd been considering a tractor for 5 years or more, and finally settled on the venerable --but now superceded-- GC2310. I'm still learning its capabilities, but late last winter, when I finally decided to get it, the little beast was positively wonderful with its snowblower. I'm now beginning to use it for summer work and the list of jobs I'd like to try is growing by the day. It has proved to be a very worthwhile investment so far. Pics! Gotta have pics!

Will do.

I plan to add a snowblower before next winter, but will be looking for options since the ones stocked by the dealer where I bought the tractor are made in Canada, and the weak US dollar has bumped the price about 20% from last year.

I suppose I could use the bucket if I had to for snow removal, but would prefer a snowblower (I'll go rear mount so I can keep the bucket for scooping around the mailbox, etc.).

I thought about the 2410, but really wanted the 2310. I was pleased to find one at a dealer that was friendly, helpful, and willing to work with me.

Now all I have to do is wait for it to get here....

Today's the day! My new 2310 should be here in a few hours.

So while the coffee is brewing I made a list of things to do today:

1) change the voice mail message at my office to let folks know I won't be in today...or tomorrow.
2) wait until my wife goes to work before digging a hole someplace so I can fix it (by hand if necessary) before she gets home.
3) avoid the steeper slopes around the yard so I don't have to call my neighbor to bring his orange tractor to upright my red tractor.
4) don't go into the woods until this afternoon so that the wet areas will dry a bit and I won't get stuck (same reason as above).
5) take a break for lunch; I'll need my strength for the afternoon's work, which may include #2 depending on how things go.
6) try to wipe at least part of the grin off my face before my wife gets home. After all, this is an important work tool, not a toy, right? :p

Waiting for this day to arrive has seemed like a long ordeal, but thanks to TBN for providing hours of reading that have helped pass the time....

It's gonna be a good day! :D

Don't worry about #6 too much, most wifes are happy if your happy.

Don't assume the machine was prepped properly, give it a through going over after a few hours of use. If your read up on the 2310 posts, then you know what to look for.

We are excited with you this morning. It will be a fun day, and you will dig more than one hole!

I have to say, that is a nice machine....both looking and operating. I don't think it will last long, because he lets any idiot neighbor that comes over to see it, run the backhoe, play with the bucket, etc. etc. Congratulations! John
