Go online for the service technical manual (google) and as well, can get it through your Deere dealer.

Tell us more about your 400, and what the plans are that you need the service manual. The 400 is a great Deere product.
Long in the tooth nowadays, but still good rigs.

If you don't want to buy new manuals from Deere, it might be worth checking E-Bay ---- lots of good manuals show up there periodically.
