Greetings all! I'm in the process of working on a 2305 that was overheated and found this site while searching for information. Looks like a great place to be, and it seems I have some searching and reading to do.

Right. There is a lot of information. My wife asked me last night if I was reading my **** referring to anything tractor related and my reply was yes. She just shook her head. She doesn't get it.

Hi and welcome to the forum. Happy to have you here!

I'm going to move this thread over to the JD section to see if we can get you some more information.

Ours kept overheating and finally blew the engine. We had it in the shop several times. An autopsy revealed a faulty thermostat and our engine was replaced even though the warranty had expired. We recently traded it in on a 1025R.

On ours, the radiator had to be cleaned frequently while mowing. When we weren't close to an air compressor, w used a leaf blower.

I cut a 2" paint brush down so the bristles were 1.5" and pretty stiff. That's kept in the tractor's equivalent to a glove box. Had something like it for a good 10-12 years. It works quite well in field cleaning the debris that adheres to the grills.
Air pressure or a leaf blower work great when you have an outlet handy...but that's not normally the case when you're in the field.

Also, for your tranny, check and make sure the plastic fan that is designed to blow on it is in good shape.
