Tractor
Ford 600
Hello Everyone!

Glad to have found this forum. My husband just retired from farming and started a tractor repair shop in Wisconsin. He is great with anything red. A friend suggested that he branch out to other tractors and I encouraged him to do this.

So we got a call to fix a Ford 600 that was running, but then got to where it needed the choke pulled out after it ran for about 5 minutes for it to continue working, then that didn't work and finally it would not run at all. We have had the tractor for 2 weeks now. We replaced all of the electrical parts. We have spark! We rebuilt the carburetor, gas is getting to the carburetor. Put on a new manifold and new seals. Still have the same problem.

Any suggestions would be appreciated as it may save our marriage. I was the one that said...."Oh honey, a tractor is a tractor is a tractor, we can fix anything!"

:welcome:

Welcome to the forum!

If you aren't finding enough help in the thread Spanner mentioned above, our Ford section is a good place to get help.

You said the tractor still ran, but you had to pull the choke? I think you were barking up the wrong tree with electrical components. My vote is a fuel delivery problem.

Everytime I get that "won't run without choke on" issue it is carb or air intake.

That is what many have said. We are going to take it to a guy who knows carburators as we have cleaned in several times and still no luck. Thanks!
