Received my new DS3510 over the weekend and promptly put it to use. I also purchased a County Line boom pole for help with skidding logs. My question is, what hardware is required to mount this effectively? Am I assuming a 7/16" lynch pin for the bottom clevis' is correct? Given the spacing with the plates for the top mount, I need a longer clevis, but am unsure of the width. Would something like this work?

5/8 Clevis

I am also in need of basic instructions on how to set up the hitch to receive the pole. I plan on reading the manual this week, but could always use advice from the community!

yes that pin will work for top link as far as length i couldn't tell you just measure it.by screwing the the top link will raise your boom-pole or lower it.

Cool, thanks deer. As far as the bottom links, should they be snug, or do they need to have a little slack?

I am confused by your terminology.

Here are pictures of a clevis, a lynch pin and a top link pin.

The pin in your link from Northern Tool is the wrong diameter, it should be 3/4".

The lynch pin goes in the hole in the top link pin. You need to match the lynch pin diameter to the hole diameter.

Forgot to update this yesterday, but I did find the correct diameters. As you might imagine, I was not using the greatest search terms with Google, so it compounded my confusion. 3/4" upper link, 7/8" lower link. You are also correct about my terminology. This whole tractor thing is like riding a bike for the first time. It's taking me a bit to figure out the proper language and etiquette :0 Thanks for the response.

It's OK, everyone has to start somewhere. If you keep reading, and keep coming back, you will be an expert in no time.

Now that you are one of us, learn the correct names of your tractor parts and use standard terminology in your posts. Informal names confuse us and soon lead T-B-N threads into worthlessness. So…..read that manual.

Here is Three Point Hitch info:

Wishing you well.

I've committed to the "slow" approach with learning how to operate this tractor. For anyone that knows me, hearing those words would induce laughter. Patience is not one of my virtues.
That being said, there's already a dent in my hood. Not going to say how it got there, though I'm sure everyone can figure it out :(

I do love this site, lurked for months before asking questions, which ultimately led to me purchasing the DS.
