Newbie in Southern Ohio (along the river).

Hello everyone, I am new to this forum or at least I think I am.. I tried all of my various emails and it said they weren't valid.. So, i think I am new here.. LOL. Anyway, I currently have 2 tractors a 951 or 961 Ford Powermaster with front loader and a Shibaura SD1840 4x4 which I use as my primary tractor. I joined today because I am looking at purchasing another tractor and need advice on it. I am looking at a 1720 Ford with a front end loader and a after market backhoe. The price is I feel a little high but I just need to pick some of your brains. For example: how can I tell if the hydraulics are really as good as the owner says they are? He did send me a picture of the backhoe extended and it supporting the tractor, he said that is the way to tell if the backhoe hydraulics are working right. I thought or read somewhere that if you extend the "out riggers" and they pickup the tractors rear end then it has enough power. Can anyone tell me about the 1720 transmission as well, it has what he calls a sss or syncronized shuttle shift, I guess... Also, are these good tractors and with an original loader and backhoe with 2000 hours how much would someone pay?

Thanks and I am going to see it sat.. I need to bring the money with me and he wants a 500 dollar non refundable deposit.. I don't want to do that but we'll see.
