Just found this site and joined because I have an issue with my 6110 A/C system.

First a little background. I am a retired 72 year old automotive engineer having spent my last 19 years at Toyota. We sold our home in SoCal in 2014 and purchased a small 30 acre ranch near Centerville, TX. I have a 6110 model and yesterday the A/C stopped blowing cold air. Normally, you can tell when the A/C compressor engages or disengages when the engine is idling. That is no longer the case. I checked and it does not engage when the A/C switch in the cab is turned on. I pulled the power lead to the clutch and with a voltmeter, it does not appear to be getting power. This leads me to believe it it a fuse or relay issue. It might be the overhead switch, but I suspect not.

I have both the owners and service manuals, but they are very poor and I can not determine where the appropriate relay and fuse are located. Can anyone help?

I need to bale hay on Friday and it is HOT. Any help or suggestions would be appreciated. All my local dealers are too backed up to help right now.

Update: I used a jumper wire from the battery to the compressor clutch lead and the clutch appears to be working okay. Now to get power to it.

You need to get some gauges on it and see if your system is charged. AC systems have a pressure switch that stops the compressor from engaging if pressure is too high or low. :hot:

Yup not getting enough for the pressure switch to turn on is what it sounds like.

Thanks, found a shop in town who can check it in the morning. Hopefully, that all it is. If that's the issue, recharging it may only be temporary as the tractor is not very old and only has 240 hours on it.

You are keeping the condenser up front well blown out? Will need to be a daily chore while running in the hay field. Also be sure once its running you don't have an idler going out.

Yeah, only use a jumper wire to test the compressor clutch momentarily. If you run with a jumper and the system is under-charged, it will destroy the compressor in minutes. The system contains oil as well as refrigerant. Without a sufficient refrigerant charge, the oil can't lube the compressor. That can lead to a very costly repair.

Centerville, TX? We're nearly neighbors. :) How did you make out in the recent biblical deluge out your way?
