I am purchasing a ym 2000BD with front end loader, finish mower and box blade. 640 hours. I am trying to locate a manual (I understand that that I'll end up with a US manual for a similar model,-- but what model am I looking for?)

I will be using this tractor mainly for mowing, and I am therefore interested in turf tires. I understand the aspect ratio concept, but I was wondering about getting a separate set of rims with turf tires. If anyone has done this for this tractor I would appreciate input.

I read the posts about air filter and oil, but I did not see anything about compatible oil filter. Any info on this.

I haven't taken delivery of the tractor yet. I am in Louisiana (flat), do I need to figure out the ROPS deal?

Thank you

In addition to the closest matching english manual, try to go ahead and get the service manual.. it will be in japaneese.. but the exploded parts diagrams are usefull when tearing into something.

As for tires, they are a subject of much debate. Some prefer turfs, some prefer the ag type or rice tires with tthe superior traction. I personally prefer ag tires for traction. And yes, they will leave a footprint on soft ground. However, that said, I mow with my 1700 , and my larger NH 1920, both with ags, and we have a sandy clay soil, with a bit of humus in it, and I only make a mark at a big turn. Again.. choose according to your needs. As your machine is 4wd, you will want to get the same rolling circumference ratio for the front to rears, otherwise you will get driveline windup.

Also, when switching tires / rims, you may want to turn the rims 'out' to give your machine a wider profile.. makes it less tippy. That coupled with the turf tires.. ( lower center of gravity ), and that machine should be pretty stable.

Sounds like a great machine. As for rops.. it is a safety / comfort ratio. There are many people here that have either purchased or fabricated rops, or improvised roll bar, etc.

Do what feels best for you. And always keep safety in mind, and don't get in a hurry... a tractor is a powerful instrument.

Have fun, and happy tractoring!
