Yanmar FX42
I'm a tractor and hydraulics novice and need help. I have a Yanmar FX42 that I need to add a rear remote to in order to connect this log splitter:

I contacted Prince Manufacturing, who recommended the following valve, but suggested I verify it's applicability with someone more familiar with my tractor.

Is this an appropriate valve? Anyone have better recommendations?

Thanks in advance for any and all advice.

Yes, I think that valve would work. Thiinking you might have to put a bungee cord on the handle to hold it in the flow position unless you set the relief pressure above the log splitter valve relief pressure. Here is a simple way to hook it up from Hoye. No idea whether you have a loader and not familiar with the FX42. Likely a place to tap in for auxilliary hydraulics. Installing remote hydraulics on your Yanmar.

Thanks. I have that diagram from Hoye. Aaron is the one who sent me here for confirmation on the referenced valve.

I do have a FEL and wondered about tapping into that, but am not sure how. Here is that controller:

Might be more economical and easier to just use either the lift or curl outlets on your loader valve. Install quick connects where you could unplug the loader function and plug in the splitter hoses. Of course you would loose that function on the loader while using the splitter. Might have to bungee the loader valve handle while using. I suppose this might be classified as a redneck way of doing it. Flow could go either way with this installation so you would need the loader valve handle pulled or pushed the right direction to assure flow goes in through the splitter valve. Long hoses would be required but probably cheaper than a valve. Hope some of this makes sense.

Thanks Winston. That does make sense. I do, however, expect to get a grading blade at some point so don't want to disable the FEL to use a 3-point implement.

"Most" grading blades do not require hydraulics.
