Newbie Question: Tires

Are R4 tires the same as the "industrial tires" that my dealer has?

Also, my wife wants to do simple veggie farming.

But I need to be able to move one or both of my ugly military surplus generators from their "hiding place" to a place where they can be used from time to time. Each generators weighs in excess of 1000 pounds. In addition, there is a military surplus metal building, in excess of 1300 pounds, that I will have to move at least one time with the tractor.

Does the TC40 tractor need fluid filled tires to lift and carry that kind of weight? If so, will the fluid filled tires help or hinder my wife's simple tilling, bushhogging and seed planting operations?

Yep.

Adding rear weight would be the safe thing to do. There are 3 ways of adding rear weight (a Search will turn up numerous discussions about all three);

1. Filled rear tires
2. Rear weight box or other 3ph attachment serving as weight
3. Rear wheel weights

If you discover that it does and you filled the tires, you're in trouble! /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif That's why I went with removable rear wheel weights. However, others have gone with the other solutions and are equally happy.

I do not have a 3ph tiller, so I can not speak about whether rear weights are needed with it.
