Been lurking for some time but new to posting. Great site, tons of info!

My new (to me) L3240 came with loaded R4's still in fantastic condition (119 hrs). All my work is off road on farm and sloped woodlands with no turf to mess up.

Here in the PNW its lots of mud all winter with a patch of clearing sometime in July-Aug. I'm looking to swap out for R1's which make more sense for my usage. I'm listing on Craigslist and hopeing someone has the same or similar tractor with the opposite type of need of their tires.

Questions are: what size R1 tires and rims will work on my 3240 and which tractors use the same sizing, and are the R1's so much cheaper that I should ask for money in the exchange or just be happy if they are in similar condition?
Did I mention that I love my l3240 and find myself wanting to just sit on it idling with a beer in hand ALL THE TIME......(other than when im actually using it!)

Welcome to TBN. Your owner's manual or the spec sheet for your tractor will have the proper sizes for the R1s.

Good luck finding a swap. You might check with your dealer, he might be able to work something out but if you get new R1 tires and new rims, then you will likely have to sweeten the deal a good bit.

It is extremely important that you get the correct diameter tires when you switch to R1's
The gear ratios of the front and rear differentials depend on tires that have the correct rolling diameters or else they will fight against each other.

You may want to contact a Kubota dealer to find out the correct rim size and width and the correct tire sizes as well as the correct diameter tires necessary.

I think we all love "seat time" and just listening to that diesel engine purr away.

The spec sheet lists the rears as 12.4-24 and the fronts as 7.2-16, but a foot note says "Kubots offers several tire options."

As mentioned, getting the right size on a 4wd is important. The owners manual will give you the info you need.

Thanks for all the input. I checked the manual and asides from the front 7.2-16 the only other size listed is 7-16. On the rear it seems 12.4-24 is the only option.

Just wanted to update this thread.
I ended up putting on R1's from a 4240 that fit just fine.
sizing is 8.3-16 front
14.9-24 rear
Thanks for all the help

thanks for the update--glad to hear that an 8.3/14.9 will work on these tractors

We have a Kubota L4310 w/ ag tires. Just make sure that you have enuff space for tire chains in the future. Our local state forest bought a Kubota w/ R-4 tires that didn't have space for tire chains !!!
