2010 JD 2320
Hello Everyone.......Newbie here:) just a question about what size of rear blade would the JD 2320 handle. I was thinking about getting a 7' blade or bigger if it would handle it. My use for the blade would be landscaping work around the yard, snow plowing, and gravel driveway maintenance.I would like to get one with offset & angle capabilities. Any brand suggestions? thanks in advance for any help.

Well, I started out with a 6' blade on my 2210, didn't work out. It was too big to push through deep snow, and in gravel and dirt pushed the rear end sideways. The 2320 is only a couple hundred pounds heavier than a 2210. I would say you could maybe do a 6' with wheel weights but would probably do better with a 5' blade. I am currently using a 5' Fronteir blade with skid shoes and it is working beautifully.

I have a 7' homemade rear blade on my 2320 and it did 'alright' in the three 12" snows we had last winter (pushing backward)... I would rather have a heavier 6" that had tilt, but the one I have was free - so Im not complaining..

i have a 5 foot blade and i use it from my 19 hp yanmar 169d to a 44 hp JohnDeere 3720. I also have used it on a JohnDeere 2210 and it pulls it great. it is the ideal size for me. i also just recently added gauge wheels, huge difference on operation.

Ya, a 7 footer sounds huge for that tractor.

Depending on what you are doing, even a 6ft may be too big. I have a 6ft for my 855. I used it last year to move snow and while it worked, on many occasions the blade did a nice job but on almost as many the blade worked as an effective ice skate sliding the rear of the tractor off to the side.

How effective it was depended on what type of snow.

The size is an advantage when you have it hard angled. You still have full (or nearly full) wheel coverage

On the dry grading i've done, it's worked out acceptably well.
