Hello everyone,
I've been a member of this site for some time and have done a lot of reading, However, this is my first post so please bear with me.
I have a year 2000 TC25 with a Rhino SE5 Brushhog on the 3pt. When I raise it up it glides into position, but when I lower it, it seems to slam into the ground. I looked under my seat for an adjuster but only found what looks like a metal plug.
Am I missing something or what? /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif
Thanks in advance and for the help you guys give to people you'll never know are out there.

Does it lower slowly if you move the lever slowly?

Re: "I looked under my seat for an adjuster but only found what looks like a metal plug."

On my TC33 the adjuster knob is not actually under the seat, but it's between the heels of my feet. You can adjust it while sitting in the seat and reaching down. It's got a image of a rabbit and a turtle on it.

Sorry I was out most of the day. I tried to lower the 3pt slowly and incrementally but when I do that it bounces. I looked at my book again and found the part where I have a linkage rod to make adjustments. The book was seperated into two sections and I didn't know they were talking about the 3pt. Thanks to all who responded.

I think you should take a look for the knob that controls the drop rate of the 3 pt hitch. Slowing the drop rate will stop the bouncing. I don't think a linkage rod adjustment will help here.

I called the dealer that I got the tractor from and talked with their mechanics. They told me that there should have been a knob as you suggest directly under the seat. I looked and there is no knob. I described what I saw and there cheif mechanic said "That's exactly where it should be but apparently your's was never put on".
Another mechanic said " That my year and model didn't have the knob or lever installed and that some bounce was a normal function". That sounded weird to me.
They also said that the hydraulic fluid might be contaminated and that the filter might be clogged with some algaeic slime. I'm due for a service so I guess I'll check on the fluids.
I've almost mastered the lever, but I still don't like the results.

Oh I forgot to mention. SteveinMD your right. The mechanics said not to mess with the linkage also.
