Tractor
L4300
Hi

Just acquired a Kubota L4300, used with 115 hours. I am a city girl and this is the first tractor and know nothing. Have driven forklift for years and enjoy that.

I have never dealt with a diesel, any advise for this newbie.

Welcome to the forum. Read the manual on operation of the tractor. This will get you going and let you get familliar with the controlls.

Diesel isn't all that different from gas. I think diesel is easier. Only difference is that untreated diesel will gel in very cold temps. You can buy treated fuel for cold temps. BP treats their fuel for cold temps. Or additives are available.

As the manual will say do not lug a deisel engine. Run it at the rated speed. With them the hardest part is starting in cold weather. Glowplugs on for 30 seconds and it should fire right up. Let it warm up to operating temp.

Hi, Greetings as i'm new to this site also. I bought the same Tractor. I'm thinking of adding a backhoe attachment.

Using the loader is like the forklift, keep the load as low as possible.
