Hello I am a newbie to this site. I've had and used many tractors I am considering buying a new Mahindra 2538 seeing what you guys think about the new ones or should I buy a different lake and stay away from Mahindra. Far as I've seen on YouTube the Mahindra seems to outperform the other ones of the same category. They're selling one for about 25,000 with the backhoe. In California. What are you guys paying.

Welcome to the site. I have a 3540 PST 4wd with loader. Bought it 3 months ago along with skid steer bale spears. All in before tax I paid $24,200. Not sure how that compares to others. I love the tractor and find it's very capable. It's very heavy heavy duty and solid. I know it's not the model you are looking at but I thought I would share my experience and what I paid. Hope that helps.

I darn near pulled the trigger on a 2538 but was wrestling between that and the 3540 - both in HST. The 3540 is a bigger frame, heavier unit made by Mahindra and the 2500 line are TYM. The 3540 is about ~$3K-$5K more and if you can afford it I would lean towards it but many love the 2538 and I think they are a capable machine.

Wound up going with the 2555 because my year end bonus was larger than I expected and that money was earmarked for the tractor. Grant it, I am having PTO issues but it is being addressed and the dealer and Mahindra is making it right.
