Made a deal today on a 2008 Hyundai 210LC-7 Hyd Excavator. Has cat walks, double acting aux hyd, Digging bucket, 60" Clean upbucket, Progressive Link thumb, 6.7 Cummins engine and is plumbed for a..... You guessed it a Denis Cimaf DAH-150E brush cutter. Once the bank lets the cash go (getting hard with all the recent purchases LOL) Freddy will be shipping it along with one of Quebec's finest Hydraulic specialists to set her up. I feel like a kid at christmas. Look out tree's, bush dead fall or anyother organic matter that resembles a plant that can be chipped, shredded etc.
Once again I have to thank all the great people at Denis Cimaf !! I wish you guys were closer to Manitoba

Any, as long as there's a DENIS CIMAF head on it ;)
Hello W,
Happy to learn you made a decision on the excavator. What made you go with the Hyundai instead of the different brand(s) you were considering? Might be interesting for other readers here...
The excavator will probably give you the lowest cost of operation in difficult terrain: much easier to see and avoid the rocks after removing the vegetation cover. In average, customers report around 300 h of life (with some experienced operators getting quite more). It will only be a matter of being zen and not rush the machine for nothing: that saves blades and $$$.
The other nice thing about the excavator is that you'll probably keep a better resale value compared to dedicated forestry mulcher, because of its versatility and more proven reliability.
Do I have to say I think you made a wise move?

My local dealer was the biggest reason, No down time if by chance the machine has a failure they replace it with another until the machine is fixed, so far the ones operating here locally are running with zero problems. A local guy has one put 1700 hrs on this winter and no problems at all. Price and value were also a factor. Although I like Cat and Deere I couldn't justify the 40k more. I looked at all the machines out there and I rated them up top. The machines are loaded , there are almost no options. The undercarriage is the same as all other mfg's the pumps and hyd's are the same as most others. All said and done this machine will have cost me with the DAH150E and everything taxes etc less than a Deere or Cat with no options, no cutter no buckets etc. And if it turns out to be a poor buy, I'll unload it and get something else.
