We have a "farm master plan". That cover the house, barns, contents of house and barns, machinery you list the insurance company, and liability including liability on the livestock. If a cow gets out and gets hit by a car, there is insurance for the cars damages. If half the herd gets out and riddles the neighbors corn field there is coverage for his crop losses. A "master plan" is the way to go in my opinion.

Added my new 3135 to my homeowners policy. $500 additional per year and it will be stored in the garage and never leave the property. Ridiculous.

My tractor is insured against theft, fire, and vandalism as long as it is on my property, what more would you be wanting?

If you are using it commercially then you will want liability insurance as well, but that is a different matter.

I use State Farm (Certas), for fire and theft. It is supposed to stay on my property, but sometimes it strays off.

I'm in New Brunswick. I have 1,000,000 liability on my tractor, cost $220 per year. The company is "economical", the same company that my truck and bike are insured by. An insurance broker assigned this company.
I also have it insured on my house policy for $45,000 fire or damage cost $31 per year. The "co-operators" insure my house. Tractor has to be on my property for the fire/damage policy.

In NY State at least;my insurance agent sold me a "Inland Marine" policy for my tractor;it cannot be covered by home-owners or auto insurance.$150.00 per year, fire, theft ect. on my property. It is not commercial insurance.

I am in NS, Look up a "mutual insurance" Have liability for highway use and they will insure equipment and structures dollar figure based, i.e. want to insure a $30,000 tractor, you buy "$30,000" insurance.

Thanks for the replies. Yeah it's an odd situation. I'm living at my gf house but she wants the tractor outta there. I purchased property about 20 minutes away, but I don't have any structures on it yet except a car tent. Hopefully a garage in the spring. So I have to figure something out
