Next Jinma 184 question, cooling water bypass hose.

What is the procedure to replace the short hose that runs from the thermostat housing down to the water pump, on a Jinma 184 with a yt290 2 cylinder engine? When putting the new radiator in, I noticed that this hose if very badly checked, but looks like either take off water pump or the plate the thermostat assembly connects to the block.

Anyone know.

Yeah, not much clearance there for bypass hose replacement. Use a lot of penetrating oil on the thermostat housing to minimize the risk of snapping a bolt, remove thermostat housing, change hoses. This would be a good opportunity to replace the original thermostat and gasket as well.

UGH, That was what I was afraid of, have new thermostat and gasket as part of the near completer radiator replacement package (radiator, hoses, thermostat, cap, new fan assembly). Just did not realize the bypass hose was in such bad condition until I was cleaning all the surfaces with degreaser and soapy water.

Oh well, another couple hours should see it apart, find a NAPA replacement hose, and get it put back together.

Man hate losing all this good haying weather.

I've got several bypass hoses in my spares box, if you're interested. I just need dimensions to make sure I pull out the right for your engine.

Thanks Greg, went to NAPA and we matched up the hose with some stock radiator hose. Almost back together, just need to get the radiator shroud lined up so it does not hit fan, and cooling fluid. Then back to mowing the pasture, for the bailers next week.
