Does anyone know of good replacement battery for NH 1320 ? Original battery is 65D31R 70Ah. Looks likes I need exact same size as original. I imagine I can call NH dealer if no one has any other suggestions. Usually just call dealer as last resort. Thanks /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

The New Holland batteries in this area are made by Exide but most companies offer that size battery. When going shopping if you go to a place that sells that size it would be fresher then if they don't normally sell them.

Not positive on this, but if yours is like my old 1720 was, any 24 or 24F battery will work. Only difference between the two was the orientation of the + and - posts. As there is a "65" in your number, you might also want to check that an auto size 65 might not also work. Just take some dimensions and head down to whereever you might by a decent auto battery.

Thanks for your help. After calling dealers, I find out indeed they are Excide Batteries. The dealer says the replacement is a Grp24 420CCA which sounds low to me. Called Interstate and they have one same size as mine in a Grp 24 with 575CCA. Both the Excide & Interstate are in the $65-$70. range so guess I'll be going with Interstate. I thought really I should get one with 700-800 CCA but can't find that in the size I need. No one knew about the "65" number on my battery. Interstate had an 800CCA in Auto battery but the 575CCA is in a commercial battery which they recommend for tractor. Thanks Again!

Leemac,
Wal-Mart Everstart batteries has up to a CCA of 620 for a NH 1320 and I think that that is a nine year battery. You can look it up according to your tractor size and model. Wal-Mart Everstart Batteries

575 should be plenty for that 1320. I too would check a Walmart, Sams Club or other discount or auto parts store. I see even NH no longer uses Interstate so I'd just go with whatever 24 or 24F you can find. I think the only difference in the CCAs will occur as you go up in battery warrantied life - the longer the warranty, generally the higher the CCAs. Any 60 mo 24 will do just fine. Use whatever manufacturer you want. So many nowadays are built by the same few companies anyway.

Thanks Guys for the tip on Sam's Club batteries. By far the best deal! Bought an Exide Select XLT group size 24 with 675 CCA at zero 835 CCA at 32 degrees. 84 month warranty with 2 years at full replacement. Price $49.76 with no exchange, in fact they do not accexpt exchanges. Fit is good too! I got it installed just in time for the minus zero temps forecast for this weekend. Thanks again for all of your assistance.
