Need some mechanical advice. I need to remove the steering cylinder from a NH 1520. A fellow forum member named Halftrack got me on the right track, but I have run into a roadblock. There is a plate that holds a rod that fits into the end of the cylinder that is attached to the frame (the other end attaches to the wheel, no problem there). I removed the bolt and after several busted knuckles, managed to rotate the plate around to where it is 90 degrees from the frame. Now at that point, do I continue to rotate the plate to loosen the rod or do I use some type of lever action to force the plate (and hopefully the rod) down and out of the cylinder? The plate took quite the beating and is bent pretty good so I need to be careful not to break it off and lose any possibility of using it at all. Any help would be appreciated.
