NH 30 & 35 series

Does anyone have any experience w/ the 30 & 35 series tractors? How do they compare w/ newer models? It looks like they fit roughly into the current TN and TL series. They weren't in production that long -- 90's more or less depending on mdl. Any weak points? Were the transmissions all mechanical? How about power shuttle? I did find a small amt of info at the tractordata site but thats it. Are there any other online places to get info?

The 30 series is the old 1000 series ford tractor with minor improements built since 1965. The 35 series is the early version of what is now called the TL series. We have sold many of the 35 series and all have been basically trouble free. One local machine I can think of has over 7000 hours on it with no problems at all. As far as the old 30 series and there earlier versions. These where very simple easy to maintain work horses with few or no problems at all. The only thing that comes to my mind right of on the 30 series would be a ball joint that tends to break on the shuttle shift linkage on these tractors.

how bad is the repair tab if the shuttle does flake out ? is it a major project to repair?

About 6.00 for a new joint!

Thanx very much for the help. Did your dealership sell many? How many are you getting back to sell used? Ive been looking around and there seem to be very few on the used market.

I dont think you will find many on the used market. Most people buying that size tractor are farmers and tend to keep there stuff for longer periods of time or until they go out of business.
