Looking at a couple of manure spreaders to pull behind our L3830 and load with our B7500.
I see a couple of NH 155 spreaders with poly floors and endgates, for $1200-1800
I also see a 328 for $1100 with a wood floor and no endgate
Anyone know what sizes these are?
Any ones to avoid?
The 328 is closer (20 mins vs an hour), but I would prefer to buy the right one the first time.
We have a cow, 2 horses, 4 llamas and a bunch of goats. We currently have a small ground driven manure spreader which works, but is very small and as such, has to be refilled very frequently.

Thanks

Re: NH Manure spreaders...

I ended up bguying an old (1930-40's era) manure spreader cause all the new ones really didnt seem to spread the manure as well as the old ones. I looked at a few new ones that only had a drum on the end. nothing to spread stuff with at all....

I have a ground powered unit that i pull with a team of horses...or my truck. Depends on how industrious i feel.

If you look at the picture of the one from an ad, you can see that the manure would just fall off the end and not shoot out. kinda useless really.

Re: NH Manure spreaders...

Our current one looks like a smaller version of the ground powered one that you posted the picture of (The one with the horses). The bed is ~4' long and it empties really fast. Need to upsize and the two NH models look like a useful size.

Mine was totally done over by someone local that fixes these things up and resales them. cost $1,250 but was worth it. works great

My problem with a ground powered one is that it is a pain to use the current one in the garden, so a larger ground powered one would be worse.
Thinking that a PTO one would let me have the ground speed independent from the spreading speed.

true..... i only spread my manure on a 10 acre pasture so its not an issue.

Here are the specs for the 155.

That is a pretty big spreader for that size tractor.

Hmm, the other ads I had seen (like this one) said that it was a 155 bushel spreader, not a 220 bushel spreader. Perhaps there is a new and an old version? I asked the seller for dimensions and a picture of the dataplate.

Here is a picture of the 155 in question:

It is going for under $1500, not $3500+ like the newer ones are.

I would doubt that NH used the same number on two spreaders that closely sized. It's an easy assumption that it's a 155 bushel spreader but Swiderski should know. But then again it's Swiderski.

We have it's big brother 185 and it's a good spreader.

We also have a 518 which I think is more like a 145.

No matter the size I think there are going to be big for the tractor and you will have to load accordingly.
