Hello, I recently purchased a nh 575 with hyd tongue swing. I notice there are actually 3 positions to lock the hitch in. Transport, straight and then offset (far left). I ran about 200 bales of straw through it behind a jd4450 and kept it in the straight position although I did have one tire on the swath. I was curious as to that offset position if that is where the baler should be set to work and also will this increase the rate of drive shaft wear. Don't mind tramping a bit of straw to keep everything in a straight line but not really the greatest for hay. So can I run it at that offset angle without any premature damage to keep my front tire off the swath? My thinking is why else would there be a hole there to lock it in if it wasn't meant to be but just not sure and no experience. Thanks.

When in baling position the baler driveline should be straight in line from tractor to baler IE baler should be as far to the right of tractor as baler tongue will allow.

The tongue swing has one transport position and two operating positions. Choose the operating position that fits your needs. The PTO driveline will last just as long in either position all other things equal. You could always get an operator's manual to answer questions like this, learn where ALL the grease fittings are, and get maintenence and adjustment info.

Publication # 87533181 will be the best 48 bucks you spend on that machine.

Thanks for the info, have a manual but couldn't find that in there unless I'm looking in the wrong spot.

I run NH 575's and I run them swung all the way out. If not in a heavy wide swaths you will end up driving over the swath. In lighter swaths you can get away with the 1st hole.
