Tractor
Looking to buy one
I was evaluating between two tractors and one had some extras on it and i called the local NH dealer and these are the prices they quoted me.
These prices are from the parts counter not installed

Quick attach for loader $580
Rear rim Weights $140 each
Rear hydraulic add on $600
Do these prices sound correct?

What is better the 16la loader or the new one that replaced it the NH 25???
Thanks

The quoted prices do sound correct. You could save yourself a bit by installing the rear remote hydraulics yourself, but $600 installed is a decent price. If you want two remotes, having them both installed at the same time might save you a few dollars.

I think the 16LA and 250TL loaders have about the same specs. If I were buying a used tractor, either loader would be fine, but the 250TL would be on the newer tractor. The 250TL has a slightly easier mounting method where it pins on the tractor's loader towers. Getting a quick attach bucket is a great feature and worth the extra cost. I bought my QA adapter when they were much cheaper, $386, so $580 looks like a lot to me, but that's the going price. Actually, the one I found online is over $600, so that price seems very fair. There is not one single option on my tractor that has improved my productivity and ease of use like that QA adapter. It's also been responsible for me buying another, bucket, bale spear, rock bucket/grapple, loader forks, and 3PH adapter. My NH dealer is very happy he sold me that adapter too. The way I figure it, NH should sell it really cheap because they will sell you lots more stuff because of it. It's like inkjet printers are cheap, but cartridges are expensive.

Well, thanks for the compliment (It was a compliment wasn't it?:D). I am not a New Holland dealer nor associated with any NH dealer or other equipment dealer/manufacturer. I'm just an ol' retired multimedia training developer with a lot of time on my hands and a strong knowledge of how to use the internet as an information resource. Thanks for your nice words. I do try very hard to give good advice and also readily admit when I make a mistake.:)

After looking at the tractor i realized and the owner told me the fenders have been to the body shop to have a few cracks fixed, when the tractor got home he touched it up with NH spray paint. He was quoted $1500/fender, both fenders were fixed and there is another visable crack on the fender now so i decided no on this deal.
Every tractor i looked at had no service or owners manuals. Is there somewhere i could find one? I remember 25 years ago my dad going to the public library in Bismarck to look at the breakdown of a carburator for a 72 chevy nova, would a library handle these? I saw some manuals at a runnings farm store for older tractors, any advise or is the NH dealership the place to go.

I had to pay $300 for the service manual on my 3045 I was told this is dealer cost, go figure.

Yeah the service manuals are crazy, my operators manual was 35.00 and it is pretty helpful.

I bought the shop manuals and the parts manuals for my TD95D on ebay. The shop manuals were ~$100 and the parts manual was ~$49 plus shipping. Check it out.
