Got a email flyer from the National Biodiesel people that New Holland has approved up to B20 for its engines.

From the appearances of the flyer, it would seem that NH is approving this only for their engines. Would that include the Shibaura engines? Who knows.

Anyone got any inside scoop on this issue?

I don't know about specifics, but a few nights ago, I watched a Discovery/History Channel show about George Washington Carver. It was very interesting because he and Henry Ford had the foresight almost a 100 years ago to see that fossil fuel was finite so they started looking in to bio-fuels.

The point of this is that the show said that bio-diesel had been used in almost every type of diesel engine in existence and worked just fine.

It also said that the first diesel engine that Rudolph Diesel invented ran off peanut oil, not diesel...go bio-fuel.

I know in the manual for my 2002 NH 7610s, the manual specifies that I can use rapeseed oil fuel.. but that I have to modify my oil and filter changes schedule ( accelerate it.. )..

Well, the 1720 is running on B2 - everyone here in MN is running on it.

One of our local oil suppliers is custom mixing soy biodiesel in whatever blend the customer wants for bulk delivery. They're also selling it at the pump, along with E-85 for the gassers.

They haven't started selling off-road biodiesel from their pumps yet, but I'm hoping they start soon. I don't use enough to have a bulk tank at home.
