First off, thank you one and all for the excellent input and helping me decide on a good tractor at the right price. This shared info is invaluable. Now, can someone suggest some web sites that sell genuine parts, aftermarket or universal attachments and accessories for my new TC40DA? I want to make some set-up changes like: convert the bucket over to QA so I can use other implements like a hay spike, grapple bucket, etc. I want to add front and rear hydraulics, a grill guard, get some rear tire chains, that sort of thing. I live in an area where the closest NH Dealer wants body-part prices for everything. And while I am happy to support a business and understand I will have to deal with him eventually, I hate to feel like someone is doing me a favor when I'm the one holding the cash:cool:

Thanks again for all the excellent feedback!

Re: Where can I find attachments and accessories?

I picked up good deals on my used box blade and back blade from Craigslist. I know there are other web sites that offer used items.

Hubie:

I had an ATI Quik-Tach installed to a loader and find it easy to switch between bucket, grapple and pallet forks. Some her noted that you can purchase directly from ATI, but I went thru a New Holland dealer.

The ATI is built stout and relatively easy to replace shear pins - I've done that twice in 2 years - cut HS drill bits.

Re: Where can I find attachments and accessories?

I should add that I had the New Holland dealer add a front hydraulic circuit with a Fasse valve (for the grapple) and rear circuit (for a Salsco PTO chipper bought from that dealer). The salesman and the mechanics were very cordial. There's 3 Kubota, 2 JD, 1 NH, and 2 Massey delears within an hour drive.

I have bought parts from Agri-Supply online.

A local welder has straightened bent implements out.

You might start this in motion by filling in your location information on the avatar so that people closest to you may have suggestions to offer.

find your pto hp and 3pt cat size and that will pretty much tell you what attachments fit your machine.... I don't have 40 specs in front of me.. but sounds cat 1 and high 30's pto hp.. just a guess.

welcome to tbn hubie ---- keep in mind that when you convert your fel with a qa -- you want it to be skid steer compatible. that will give you more options and flexibility on fel attachments. also - you'll need to either convert your bucket or buy another to fit the qa. I converted mine -- cut off the pin on frame and welded on the qa.
