new holland 1620 (broken) :/ 200? Tc30
I have a '97 NH 1620 with 7108 loader. A problem that presented itself at first with the bucket moving up at about half speed progressed until it actually moves down in either position on the control. I know it is not an issue with the lines, (I have swapped the arm/bucket lines @ the valve which only moves the problem to the arms, which still work fine otherwise). I did notice when I did this that after I shut the tractor down and went to release presure from the lines (by moving joystick to down possition), that the arms would fall just a few inches until it seems pressure built up in the return line......(when I then selected the up position, the arms actually raised slightly due to the pressure build up). So fluid is not being alowed to return to the tank through the valve, which I have just replaced.....any thoughts?

Check them QD's if you have them. You can't just look at them, but sometimes you can see the o-ring protruding out.

The best way is to unscrew the QD off the hose and place the hose and QD in a bucket and see if the hose and coupled QD will pass fluid.

Check, already done that. (I disconnected the hoses on the loader arm where they meet the metal lines that run forward) The only thing of notation was that in one position both bucket lines were passing fluid. (which also was the case @ the valve with all lines disconnected). Then I swapped lines at the valve. I knew that the arms worked on their spool (QD's must be fine, right?), so when I move the arm circuit to the bucket spool and the problem presents itself there, I think it must be in the bucket side of the valve? I'm very close to buying a new valve, (the one I swapped in was used), but a little hessitant dropping that kinda $ on a shot in the dark. What are the chances that 2 valves would have identical problems? Is there some kind of check valve/regulator in the lcv that might be malfunctioning? Am I correct in assuming that if this were on the tractor that it would affect both spools?

Check what is inside the the bottom caps on the valve and ensure that the spool is going through the full range, push and pull. May be rust, dirt, etc.

One other thing that may or may not be of note is that the power beyond circuit does not work when the bucket spool is engaged, (3ph stops raising if the loader arm is opperated, but not when I try to opperate the bucket)

If you use all the flow to operate the lift or bucket, the 3pt should not work, until you release the levers for the tilt and lift.

Although the FEL valve has priority, if you feather the bucket or lift, there should be fluid to operate the 3pt.

If your pump is pumping about 10 GPM's, and if you feather the valve at 3 GPM's, there will be 7 GPM's available for the 3pt.

If you slam the levers full fwd or reverse you will use all the pumps GPM.
