New or used...I am comparing the NH 4060 to JD 5065E, JD 5065M and JD 4520/4720. Which one would you buy? This will be my last tractor purchase and obviously want to make this a good one. I'm comparing those brands because of the dealers that are in close proximity to me. Both dealers have good reputations.

I use my old Jubilee for EVERYTHING. Spraying, Tilling Very large garden, Tree removal, grading, haying...you get the picture.

Thanks
Greg

The 4520/4720 will do everything the prior Ford did, only faster and better. The other larger utility tractors will do it all as well. Depends on how big your biggest task is. Will a utility tractor be to big for your use? The 4520/4720 is a moderate step up. The utility tractors are a major step up. I like bigger is better, but if your tasks do not require a utility tractor, then why get one? The 4520/4720 is probably 1.5-2x more productive than the Jubillee. The utility tractor is proably 3x more productive. The HST of the smaller tractors is really convenient once you use them over the more conventional gears of the utility tractors.

Thanks for the info Radman

When I rented the NH TC-40DA (I was thinking about buying it) I was impressed but the clean up I'm doing on some big old willows and digging stumps etc...the bucket was ok but not near big enough for the clearing that I'm doing. Heavy hay also put the 40hp under quite a load. That's why I know I need to bump up to a 60 horse machine.

I'm still torn between the ease of maneuvering with the hydro or going with a gear shift and bigger bucket with more capacity. Anything will be easier than my current muscle machine!:)

Thanks again,
Greg

Hey Greg,

I've got the DX60 Case, with the shuttle shift it is great for loader work, also if you have field work it is great not having to work a clutch all day long.

I use ours for snow blowing and moving snow in the winter, got a bigger bucket and it works great. In the summer I use it to disk and pull my cultivator. I am now just setting it up for Flail work.

I don't know if this answers your questions, I hope it helps.

I suggest you consider a Deere 110tlb with 3pt hitch combo. I have found it to be a good all around machine. These are available new or used too.

I considered the case dx60 but the dealer isn't close by. Everybody here runs green or blue. Does the backhoe on the 110tlb come off easy? I don't know a thing about them but if it was easy to take off and install that might be the answer for a lot of the clearing that I'm doing. I might go rent one for a day and see what I've been missing.

Thanks a lot...really appreciate your input guys.

I think the backhoe on the 110 is easy to remove, takes me less than 10 minutes and that is with a Laurin cab on it. I would suspect it to be a little faster for an OS model.

Might also add that with the diverter function you get an auxillary valve for a grappel or other function on the fel too. You have in effect three functions on the fel and three functions at the rear.
