I'm close to purchasing a new T4.75 with 12 speed power reverser, cab, loader and 540/540E pto. Anything I should be aware of ? i plan on using the tractor for haying and feeding/cleaning chores. How about the hydraulically actuated PTO... modulation harsh or does it feather itself into operation, much like the power reverser transmission does. Weight? does it need both loaded rear tires and wheel weights? thanks

That's a real nice tractor and it made my short list when I purchased mine last summer. If you are doing a lot of haying make sure the 12 speed will be enough to run your hay equipment at optimal speed. It will get-r-done but it may be a little aggravating. The 540/540e is nice (I think it's really a 540/750 PTO) and I only shifted it in 3 or 4 times with a rotary cutter and it seemed fine. Just make sure you don't plan to purchase any 1000 rpm equipment in the future. The NH Buddy seat is sweet!

I liked the lay out of the cab and there was something about the parking brake that was a little different. I almost think there wasn't one but the gear selector was placed in a certain position. (?) I can't remember exactly, getting old sucks!

I went with the other blue tractor because of the 40f/20r speeds, electronic hi/lo, 540/750/1000 PTO, more hp and a couple standard features that I felt NH or the dealer were being a little crazy on the pricing. The rear wiper and third remote was over 2K but came standard on the LS.

Happy tractor shopping and post pictures when you get your tractor!

If I had to do it again I wouldn't get the self leveling loader. Another member on here thinks the hyd pistons are to short. I agree. I can take a vid to show you what I'm talking about in the next few days. I got it with the self leveling because it says it will lift more in the specs. The performance of the loader is good in my opinion. It's my first tractor but have owned skid steers and a track loader. I use it to maintain a small horse farm.

Thanks Dave & diggerd..I plan on a non-self leveling loader. As far as the other blue tractor LS, I checked into them and would like a 7030 or 7040 CPS. However, I cannot identify a qualified dealer close enough to be comfortable ..service wise. I like the heft and standard features of the LS and after some analysis, believe them to be an excellent buy. There is an LS dealer about 50 miles from me.. but they appear to handle the smaller stuff....

Just bought myself a 4.75 NH. I hope it works out for me.
