I had to remove the power steering pipe from the pump to the steering wheel to have it reflanged. No problem. I topped off my power steering fluid and the steering works but is sloppy and can be difficult to turn. It's usable, but annoying and hard to maintain a straight line or a smooth turn when mowing. I rechecked the fluid level and it is fine. I figured I have air in the system and it'll work it's way out on it's own. Well, it's been weeks now and I still have the problem. Is there some process to bleed the lines?

Using the FEL, raise the front axle off the ground. Turn the steering wheel lock-to lock slowly several times. Check the oil level again. If it doesn't steer well then, you have other problems.

Thanks! I'll try that as soon as I get a chance to put FEL back on.

Thanks RickB! I jacked it up and did as you said. Much better! Not perfect, but much better! I'll repeat the procedure tomorrow.
