I just bought my first tractor - got a 2004 TC30 with the hydostatic - 7308 loader, a 6 ft tiller for $9,900... which seems to be a good deal. The only thing is it has a lot of hours - about 2200.

Anyway, I'd like to look over safety precautions, maint intervals, etc in the operator manual... except it didn't come with one.

A quick search didn't find a .pdf version on the NH website. Does this exist?

If not, could you point me in the right direction on the following
1 - the hydrolic fluid (near the PTO in the back) is low - wanted to make sure I get the right stuff to fill it up - what type does it take?

2 - The engine oil is pretty black + I'd like to replace it - does it take normal oil (5w30 or 10w30?)

3 - it seems to be leaking a bit of oil from the drain plug on the bottom of the engine. I haven't grabbed a wrench yet, but it looks like their is a gasket there - is it common to have to replace that - where do I get one?

Thanks!

I don't believe that there are any online manuals for the NH tractors. I've never been able to find them, and also I read somewhere here at TBN that they are not available.

Congrats on the 'new' tractor! It sounds like it's almost broken in! :)

I have a T2320, which is the new model number for what used to be the TC45, so the below info may not pertain to your model.

The manual calls for Ambra Multi G134 hydraulic oil. You could use a UTF such as Mystic JT-5 from TSC, or any brand that is rated to replace NH134 fluid.

For engine oil, a diesel rated oil. Tractor ships with 10W-30 (according to manual).

Here's the temp/viscosity recommendation from the manual:

+40F to 120F -- SAE 30W
+10F to 120F -- SAE 15W-40
-10F to 120F -- SAE 10W-30
-20F to 60F -- SAE 5W-30

Hope this helps!

I have the same problem with the beeping on mine and can't find an answer for it either. I have found if I pull the 5 amp fuse it stops the beeping but it won't run with this out but if you have found out what makeshe it beep I need your help with mine.

I have a weird situation with my TC30. It won't crank unless i use a jumper pack. It has a new battery, starter, and ignition switch. Once it starts it runs fine but if I turn it off I need to use the jumper pack again. I have been looking for corrosion and have cleaned where the ground connects to the frame. It seems to need the extra amperage and/or voltage to crank. I am not sure where all the safety switches are to check them for corrosion. Any suggestions???

How long have you owned your TC30? They indeed do seem to suffer from starting issues. The key switch can be an issue.

Have you reviewed this thread:

TC33D wont start

Sometimes the battery cables can corrode from the inside and it can be difficult to see this. To test if this is the problem you can use a set of jumper cables to substitute for your battery cables, you can easily do this with the ground by connecting your jumper to the negative battery post and then to know good ground on your frame.
