How many TC30 owners/users we have lurkin 'round here? This tractor has piqued my interest. I know mrwrum's got one ... anyone else?

This unit seems to stand alone where the big 3 are concerned. Wonder if the concept will waft into the orange and green marketing depts.

If ya own a TC30, how, what, and where is this unit suiting your needs ... and what {objective} impressions so far.

A brandy-spankin NEW 33hp 4WD HST with Loader for about $15K+- .... that should perk up anyone's ears methinks.

Doug, thanks for the honorable mention. As many of you know, I am really pleased with my TC30. I saved about $3,000 compared to a TC33D and have not been sorry I did. Even if you don't want hydro and opt for the dash mounted column shift, the roomy operator station really sets this machine apart from the other 'value' tractors. See my review in the Review section at the top of the page.

Attached photo is an actual TC30, but not actually my TC30.

"No Man is an Island."

'cept for Jerry so far!

Looks like I'm gonna have to ask BIRD or Muhammad or Harv (both of them), Cowboydoc, Von, Boondox, et. al. to go test drive one of these things to get some more feedback!

BIRD?????

I have done some internet sluething while researching tractors. Some tractors are assemblied in the U.S.A. with parts from other countries and some tractors are manufactured in other countries, but are relabeled with well known U.S. names. I have found some Iseki & Massey Ferguson, and Shibaura & New Holland models that look very similar, and are sold under thier own names in other countries. I assume the same is true for Yanmar & John Deere models made in Japan. The TC30 is a dead ringer for the Shibaura S series. The Shibaura S series come in 25, 30, 32, 36 & 45 hp, so there's not an exact match. Does the TC30 say it's made in Japan, or assemblied in the U.S.? It's not too important, I'm just curious. It is more clear for the TC18,21, & 24 since the Shibaura ST series offer those exact same models, and I saw a TC24D that said "Made in Japan." The New Hollands have "Made in the USA" belly mowers, while the Shibaura have different decks with 4 gauge wheels.

BTW, <font color=red>Shibaura's are red, </font color=red>and <font color=blue> Iseki's are blue. </font color=blue> <font color=orange> Iseki's are also orange when they are labeled AGCO. </font color=orange>

Doug, your original post mentions 33hp. While the TC30 shares an engine with the TC33D, it has a different fuel system which drops the HP to 30. I wonder what it would take to get those 3 extra ponys? (It's a more power Tim Taylor kind of thing)

Check out this photo to see how smartly the oil filter is located for ease of service. (same on Boomers)

Jerry, funny, I asked the NH serviceman that same question. He said that all it took was an adjustment to a valve ( I didn't see the one he was pointing to).

Assuming that it IS in fact the same 33hp Diesel on the TC33D, finding and making this adjustment may be able to be done without harming the machine. Of course, it raises a lot of questions like do PTO ratings go up also?; can the frame and drivetrain take the increase in stride?; can the pumps handle more churning?; Can the 25D tranny handle 33 horses?

Mmmmm, I guess answer lies in another question. Why did the engineers rev down the 33hp plant for 30hp to begin with?

Hear you go, Jerry. I thought I'd help you out and solve your disclaimer problem once and for all. /w3tcompact/icons/wink.gif/w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif

Great point, remind me of when computer CPU overclocking started. Many people tried it, and burned up their CPUs. Even to this day, I won't overclock. I think things most times are better left alone. Now what do I do to crank my TC21D up to a TC24D? /w3tcompact/icons/laugh.gif. Just kidding guys. Good Luck. Kent

Good point about the drive train capabilites. Reminds me of all those 4X4 trucks on the road where the owner put on monster tires and revved up the motor. I gotta believe they burn out a lot of transmissions and break drive shafts.

Ok Garry, I got a copy of that updated photo /w3tcompact/icons/laugh.gif

Also, I have attached an actual photo of GolfGar4's tractor /w3tcompact/icons/wink.gif

Is that Garry and his white Funbuggy out for a quick 9 during a blizzard?

Geesh! /w3tcompact/icons/eyes.gif

Try to do a favor for a guy and see what it gets you! Since Jerry hasn't gotten around to getting the disclaimer on his tractor's photo, I figure..."<font color=blue>Jerry's my bud. I'll help him out like a good bud. I just know he'll appreciate the fact that I thought of him, and wanted to help him. I just know that Jerry would do the same for me if I were in his shoes."</font color=blue> /w3tcompact/icons/king.gif

But NOooooo! /w3tcompact/icons/frown.gif

What do <font color=red>I</font color=red> get?

Not only do I not get a Thank You. But I get the fact that I haven't got my tractor yet shoved into my face to boot! /w3tcompact/icons/shocked.gif/w3tcompact/icons/sad.gif Talk about rubbing salt into a guys wounds! /w3tcompact/icons/frown.gif

I can only surmise from this shocking treatment that the person who responded to my post and attachment was NOT my buddy Jerry! /w3tcompact/icons/mad.gif Jerry would NEVER have responded to me this way!

Alright, WHO ARE YOU?? And what did you do with my thoughtful, considerate, helpful, supportive friend Jerry??? You'd better confess, or the entire TBN brain trust will search you out and expose you for the low life, slimy, lower than a snake, scumbucket that you are! /w3tcompact/icons/mad.gif/w3tcompact/icons/mad.gif

<font color=blue>"Is that Garry and his white Funbuggy out for a quick 9 during a blizzard?"</font color=blue>

Russ,

Be careful!! /w3tcompact/icons/eyes.gif

There's a conspiracy out there trying to convince people that Jerry's turned on me and is ridiculing the fact that I don't have my tractor yet. I don't know who these people are, but do not be fooled by them. They are not the real Jerry.

I know I can trust you to do the right thing and not give credence to these pretenders. You know I've never denied that I don't have my tractor yet, and so does Jerry. That's why I know it's not him doing these terrible things. He's always supported me in my search for my tractor, as I know you have. I can't tell you how much I appreciate your and Jerry's support.

So be careful and don't fall for these unkind statements. /w3tcompact/icons/wink.gif

O.K. guys, make nice. /w3tcompact/icons/crazy.gif Communicating through posts can lead to misunderstandings very quickly. One guy's joke can be another's insult. I had a misunderstanding with a fellow TBNer this weekend myself. /w3tcompact/icons/blush.gif We're not talking over the fence having a beer, so it's hard to tell if your coments are starting to tread on thin ice.

Personally, I expected to see a golf cart with a FEL or something like that. I clicked back and foward several times not understanding why the picture wouldn't show up. /w3tcompact/icons/tongue.gif

And frankly, the thread is now pretty well diluted. Everytime I check the post count on my thread, it's increased, but devoid of topic.

Maybe Jerry IS the only TC30 owner, but in case he isn't, lets leave the thread related to the topic.

Thanks a heap! /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif

Garry,

Sorry, I didn't get your reply either. I guess I spent too much time in the sun today. /w3tcompact/icons/blush.gif

Sorry for wondering off topic Doug. You may well imagine that my quest for fun has gotten me in trouble before.

Golfgar4, I don't know WHO was posting under my ID. Musta been the wife /w3tcompact/icons/wink.gif

Peace everybody. I personnally apolagize to Garry for trying to include his trusty Funbuggy in some bizarre bit of humor, regarding his favorite sport and climatical events that occasionally occur in the far north. (Wow that was a mouthful)

Now in referrence to the unsubstantiated imposter ( who may or may not be of the female persuasion) slandering the very essence of the TC30 soul. We had all better step back and take a few deep breaths. Heck I for one, am going to put this bucket of tar back on the shelf and return the neighbors chicken feathers.

Now Garry if you would like chain up the funbuggy ( you might want to add a winch also). I 'd like you to invite you to show us your prowess by competing in the "Annual Pillar Mountain Golf Classic. Held during the middle of March, on Pillar Mountain, on Kodiak Island Alaska. As I said its held in the middle of March, so you can expect everything from slush, and blowing snow to @ 6' drifts at the top. Oh and the wind blows constantly from 15 to 100+ knots. They usually call a weather delay at 40 knots. You are allowed two spotters. These come in very handy to carry such items as snowshoes, snowshovels and chainsaws. The course is only 9 holes, avg. about 2 1/2 miles. But it is played up the side of a @1000' mountain. And much of the grade is @ 60 degrees. Orange balls as well as orange vests are standard. And Personal Emergency Locator Beacons are common. So Garry and any of you other TBN golf enthusiast, are you up to the challenge. May be we could get Muhammad to sponsor a team effort.

Good morning all!

I to, wish to apologize for wandering off topic as we did. Jerry and I have been having some fun going back and forth ever since he got his tractor (and I didn't /w3tcompact/icons/wink.gif). I know he realizes that my comments are all made with tongue in cheek, and I know the same about his comments.

But BigDave, you are absolutely correct about others not being able to determine if it's in fun or not. I, too, have been a victim of the very same thing.

DAP, I'm sorry we misdirected your legitimate request. You were looking for some information, and we pretty much shut that down. Although it was not done intentionally, it still should not have happened. /w3tcompact/icons/blush.gif

Kodiak,

I'll play golf anywhere, anytime! /w3tcompact/icons/tongue.gif Your event does sound somewhat daunting, though! /w3tcompact/icons/eyes.gif I have played in 6+ inches of snow here in Wisconsin. It was a charity event, and we did use orange balls, snowshoes, etc. Of course, we didn't have the 40+ knots, 60 degree slopes, and 1,000 foot mountain to contend with!

But I might just take you up on your offer - next August. We're putting together an Alaskan cruise. I'll give you more details later as we develop the trip.
