NH TC35D Headlight opportunity

I am new here but have enjoyed reading posts on different subjects. A lot of great information on this forum!
I recently purchased a TC35d and was told the headlights did not work. Actually neither do the taillights. I went to the switch and found the load side wire going to the headlight. There was power to where it goes under the steering wheel but not where it reappears under the hood. So I spliced a wire from where I got voltage to the wire under the hood. Voila had headlights.
BUT now I am blowing the #4 fuse. It has got me scratching my head big time. I can turn the light switch on and the internal green light in the switch comes on and can remove the 15 amp fuse for the headlights and the switch light remains on. I have read about the relay. Is that my problem.
Sure a lot more complicated than my old Massey 135.

The attached portion of a schematic may be similar to your tractor's and give you some ideas to look at.

Thanks thclimber. My owners manual shows a little different scheme. It seems the #4 (instrument panel) fuse is carrying the headlight load through Hm-55-0-18? Can not see any other reason for the lights to blow that 7.5 amp fuse. I am not an expert at wiring diagrams. .

Terrific I didn't know you had a manual, I'm certainly no expert either at reading a wiring diagram.

Hopefully others will provide an idea of what to look for next.
