New Holland TK100M
I have a New Holland TK 100, which is a 2010 100 hp crawler. It is a great tractor, the only problem I have is the radiator plugs up with dust very easily. I tried using window screening and it does not help. I have to stop every once in a while and squirt it real good with water and then it's ok for a couple of hours. I saw somewhere and do not know if it was on this website, where someone had somehow made the fan so it could be reversed with a switch. This would probably take care of the problem. Anyone have information on this?

I've got a TK100A and also did have overheating problems, once the rad start to plug up then immediate rise in temperature when tractor was working hard with forestry mulcher. To try solve the problem I had to clean the rad with an air compresor every morning and if it was a very dusty conditions - I would have to clean a few times in a day.

Last year I changed the forestry mulcher for a smaller and more efficient one and ever since, the overheating issue was a lot better but it seems that the cooling capacity is not enough at some times.

What kind of work you do with yours and is the engine working hard ?

Have you had any other problems with the tractor? couse I'v had PTO, transmission and fuel injection pump twice and a bearing in the main clich.

All the best

I do mostly disking and some mowing. I have a 9' pull behind, offset wheel disk that I pull behind, and a 7' Rears 3 point mower that I use. My overheating happens when I am disking and mowing high weeds and that is what plugs up my radiator. I have about 450 hours on the tractor and have not had any other problems. It has a lot of power and handles real well. I mostly disk or mow smaller residential properties from 1/2 acre to 20 acres.

I think these radiators have a chronic problem with plugging. You might try screening the grill instead of screening the radiator itself. My TD95D has relatively large holes in the grill that allows stuff to get to the radiator. I don't know if they make a fan with reverse pitch that would blow air forward through the radiator. But if there is dust and chaff around the engine that would plug the rad from the backside eventually, too.

Oh and be careful squirting water on a hot engine block. Some bad stuff can happen. You'd be better off using air.

Have been running a TK80MA on mixed forestry work and steep hillsid mowing for many hours without over heating problems. However in dusty conditions i clean the hood / bonnet screens twice a day and would blow the radiator out twice a year as part of our general servicing. Very few issues with this machine to date.
From many years experience I would always advise using a good grade of antifreeze / corrosion inhibitor as this will act as a wetting agent and improve the cooling.
