I have a 2013 Workmaster 40 that I want to put a loader on. Westendorf is asking if it's a tier 4 interim, tier 4 final, or non-tier 4 engine. How do I find this out? What are they talking about? Thank you!
Correct. The current model, like mine is tier 4 and started in 2017. There was an earlier model as noted above. Still, Tractordata DID make a mistake in the newer machine with the loader capacity. The actual loader in the new machines has substantially less capacity than in tractordata. I have emailed them about the error, but last I saw it had not been corrected. With me it came down to the WM 40 or the Kubota L3901, and one of the deciding things was that TD had the Workmaster as having much more loader capacity than they L3901. I bought the Workmaster, and was surprised by the figures in the Loader manual. They are pretty close to the L3901 loader after all. Still, I like the tractor and the loader is quite strong.Tier 4 refers to the EPA pollution requirement level. Currently anything over 25 horsepower must have tier 4 emission control. This adds (in most cases) a catalytic converter and possibly some other stuff. Many of these requirements came into play in 2014 which is where the question came in. However, according to Tractor Data the Workmaster 40 did not come into being until 2017. That means Tractor Data is in error (which they'd be happy to correct) or you have the year or model wrong which would cause confusion. TractorData.com New Holland Workmaster 40 tractor information
