NiCad renew??

/ NiCad renew?? #2
batteries will suffer from dendrite growth inside the cells. A short will occur from that growth, a strong shot of electricity will cause the dendrite to fry. But it will only fry back a short way and will soon resume growing.

Some of the gizmos sold by shady characters will actually cause batteries to explode. That's exciting, but not good for the battery or the person using the gizmo. Might be ok for the next of kin if there was enough insurance....

I think it would be nifty to take the packs apart and replace with Li-Ion 18600 protected cells. They are taller than the original ones,so some "engineering" would be needed.

My DeWalt charger claims to have a built in re-jevenator....
I have dismantled battery packs on cheaper drills, tested each cell and between two packs come up with enough good cells to rebuild one of them, (for a while) You need a good sized gun to resolder them together
