Hi-I've decided I "need" a night vision scope, to look at birds, critters, keep track of the horses, etc. I borrowed my neighbors Bushnell Gen I monocular scope and it is nice but no longer available. I've searched and wonder what you readers use for this?
Do I stick with Gen 1 (affordable for sure) or go to Gen II(big bucks as I've seen)? Batteries are AA or CR123 usually, any concerns as to which is best? Any places better to buy the product from? I've searched Amazon and they have lots of items but the
reviews range from "it's the best there is" to "I can't turn it on" and "I can't see anything" for the same product!! I'd be grateful for any opinions as to what has worked for you.
Thanks in advance, Bill

I'm not real informed on the night vision, but I would think one that uses the CR123 batteries would be better in the long run, the last a lot longer than the AA cells, plus now you can usually find them anywhere that carries a decent stock of batteries. I usually buy mine in a 10 or 12 battery bulk pack at the sporting goods store.

On another forum I follow, there was a good amazon deal posted. It was a gen 2 that was down to about $600-700 if you have Amazon Prime. It looks like the price is back up, but I'd check it out and ping it through the holiday sales period to see if it goes back down.

BTW, I have no connection to the seller or experience with night vision, but I do look a bit for deals. I am not over here at tractor by net often so email me through my profile if you need to catch my attention. (I don't have a tractor, but bought some land and will build on it in the next few years, so I am over here doing research periodically).

I bought and sold the pulsar N750. Had it for almost a year and didn't use it so I got rid of it but I will say that it worked REALLY well. You can see out several hundred yards as if you are using a high power spotlight but only visible through the scope. I think they advertise working distance is 600 yards but I never measured. Eyes would light up light reflective signs.
