This is the second acquisition of a chinese tractor company by Deere that I am aware of. They acquired taijin (sp) plant several years ago, that mostly made larger (over 50HP) tractors. That factory has produced some very JD looking product for teh Chinese home market (and probably some exporting to other parts of the world. CNH bought the Shanghai tractor factory which was a fairly popular brand of 50HP tractor from China. And of course Mahindra bought the Jaingling tractor plant (former manufacturer of Lenar tractors) I think we will see more of these type of acquisitions as Chinese tractors continue to develope and continue to gain market share. I have some pictures of DF tractors (same as we are using for our AgTrac brand tractor) that were purchased and badged as New Hollands. I look for more of this type of activity.
