Sorry for repeating myself but make sure the cab is grounded. Should have a ground strap from engine to cab.

Here's another PDF file I found in the which I believe what Harleycb had mentioned in his post. Bad picture but its does show some large fuses in the parts listing.

Have you checked out the ignition switch? Voltage to the switch? Voltage coming out of the switch?

Your issue sounds just like what happened to me when I had to work on the starter. On the positive side of the battery cable you have two wires coming off. The thick one goes to the starter, the other smaller one should run underneath the radiator. Follow that back and there is likely a bad connector within 10 inches of the battery. It's a plastic blade connector that splits that small wire into two that feed the main fuses. Mine was so corroded it fell apart.
