No Extra Point in NFL?????

although i've never seen this play, if you wanted to fake the extra point kick and go for 2 points the defense would never be fooled.

I didn't read the article, but watched something about it on fox this morning. I think it's a good thing to change the rule, maybe not get rid of it, but change it. i believe they said that out of 1200 extra point kicks, only 5 were missed, so it's basically a guaranteed point.

I think they should move the extra point back, and make it something like a 30 yard attempt, that would make it more likely to be missed. Also, I think they should move the 2 point conversion back to the 5 yard line instead of the two.

Seems like a good idea to me...but IMO the biggest thing/rule(s) that need to be changed in professional sports is in MLB...they need to instill the electronic strike zone and eliminate the BS umpire biases...
...they should also not allow the batters to slow the game...especially by adjusting their gloves etc. after every pitch (some do this whether they take a swing or not...)

While on the subject of rule changes...I rarely watch basketball (maybe some of the final 4+) and maybe the last 2 minutes of an NBA final...so..."if I were king"...they would not stop the game for fouls...at the end of the game so much time should be allowed for foul shots (if both teams had the same amount of fouls 1-/-2...no shots needed...

Now about Hockey...It should be all about skating and stick skills...NO intentional body contact...!

Golf....Can't wait until they get rid of the long putters and all the cheaters that won sanctioned events using them get an "*" in the books...

Racing...I say "screw the rules" (except for safety equipment)...fastest car w/the best driver wins...!

The above is just my opinions...

same for foot ball, a chip could be placed in the ball that would accurately locate the ball on the field, no more of the foolishness of walking the ball across the field then "measuring" the location, what a joke

Only problem here is that they don't always go by the balls location. Most of the time it's where the feet or body part land first, or in the endzone the ball can be out of bounds as long as the feet are in.

That makes sense, thank you.

instead of eliminating the extra point they should just narrow the target. the vertical pieces on the goal post should be movable.

Keep the goal posts as they are now and move the ball to one of the hash marks (left or right) on the 2 yard line for the extra point. The angle gives a little more challenge to the kicker.
