Hooked up the disc harrow yesterday to prepare a new food plot. Got everything hooked up, raised it up to transport. Got to the site dropped the harrow and made it to the end of the row. Pulled the lever to raise the harrow and NOTHING. Tried the FEL, again NOTHING. Had to disconect the harrow and leave it in the field, luckily the bucket on the FEL was curled forward but it was dragging the ground so I had to back up all the way to the tractor shed.

Before anyone asks....yes I checked the fluid level, it was to the top of the full mark. The stop valve is open. I just recently "month or so ago" changed the tranny fluid and cleaned the screen and replaced the Hydro filter. Today I again checked the screen and replaced the filter but so far no-go.

I know very little about hydraulic systems, so I really need some help on this one. Hopefully it's not a bad hydraulic pump as I just checked Hoye and they don't list a pump for my tractor [2220D]

Any help is greatly appreciated, thanks in advance..................

Don't know how your pump drives but possibly a key sheared or bad coupling. Would sure seem to be in the pump area. If you have no pressure and are getting fluid to the pump I think you will have to pull it and take a look.

One of the most common problems seem to be quick disconnects. Unhook and rehook and see if that takes care of problem. The guys over in hydraulic section sees this as a problem quite often.

Loosen the connection at the line exiting the pump and see if it squirts fluid.

You are very close.
I went back to the tractor shed right after I posted and checked everything out one more time. Everything seemed ok, fluid level ok, no leaks, etc. Sooo, I said what the heck, I might as well pull that pump off and have a look inside. I got the pump off easily enough and as I held it in my hand I gave the gear on the end a spin with my fingers. There was absolutly no resistance. So I took it to my work shop for further analysis. I found that the key was indeed sheared but the end of the shaft where it is threaded was broken off. I have to assume that there was a nut on there somewhere, but after looking inside the tractor I could not find a trace of it. Replacing the key was out of the question because with the threaded end broken off ther was no way of keeping it in place. I figured what the heck, it's already broken what do I have to loose so I spot welded the square drive thingy that goes inside the gear. I took precautions to keep everything cool as there are a number of O rings on there.
I took it back to the tractor shed, reinstalled it, hooked up the lines, fired the tractor up and in a few minuites everything was back to normal. I don't know how long it will last, it might last for as long as I own the tractor or it might come off the next time I use it, only time will tell. I don't really trust it though and I am still concerned about the missing nut or whatever on the end of the shaft. I did notice when I cleaned the screen [again!!] that there were a few small pieces of metal on it. Other than that it was pretty clean.
As I said I guess time will tell.
Thanks all for your help once again, I do appreciate it.
