I am trying to help friends widow get a Kioti tractor operating. His last use was about 3 weeks ago, reported all seemed to work OK. Tractor was parked in barn with loader blocked up to reduce storage length. A pan under it had minimal signs of hydraulic leak. All fluids ok. sight window for hydraulic fluid at 3/4. It started Easley, runs good and moves without problems. Cannot get any action of the loader, neither tip or raise to remove block holding it up.

I have read the tractor manual cover to cover, loader manual not much info. I can't find any reason for it not to operate.
Any suggestions? or knowledge of hidden valves?? I talked to dealer (over 100 miles away) only suggestion was to 'bring it in"

If the pump is pumping fluid through all the valves, and you push the FEL lever, something should happen.

It might take a while, but if there is air in the cyl, it might take about 5 or more complete cycles of the cyl to expel the air.

Is anything on the FEL working?

Is the 3pt working.?

A pressure gauge might help you to troubleshoot the hyd system.

Is the loader joystick unlocked? Not sure if or what kind of lock without more info about the model number.

If it were me and I was "blocking" something up in the air, I'd also be taking precautions to make sure someone couldn't accidentally mess with things. So I'd probably lock the joystick or take other precautions.

Also check the hydraulic connections to make sure the loader is hooked up. Who knows, maybe the guy had reason to disconnect the loader when it was blocked up for storage.

s219 has probably got it right. On my CK model, the lock is just behind, and at the base of the joy stick. You didn't say what model you are helping with...but would think most Kioti's to be similar.

IF the loader joystick moves and isnt "locked", My money is on the quick couplers. Try unhooking and re-connecting them.

There may be a hydraulic line bypass open so the loader was sitting with no original hydraulic pressure? Or one of the three point levers may be out of position?

We made contact with another friend of Bobs that had worked with the tractor. He said it required a lot of RPMs to get enough pressure to move items. So we cranked it up and they worked. Seems like a lot of excess RPM necessary so I am assuming that the pump must be worn?? or could there be blockage somewhere?

Is there a simple way to localize the problem. Or do these tractors scream when in use ?

You should have good pressure with low engine speed hence low GPM.

Install a pressure gauge in a tee in the IN port of the first valve and check your pressure.

To determine the pumps potential, you need a flow and pressure check by the hyd shop unless you have the gauges and shut off valve, relief valve, etc.

If there are remotes on that tractor, check to be sure the remote lever is disengaged (mine has detents)...otherwise the pump will be in bypass all the time.

AVATOR: You never answered JJ's question about the 3-point. Hydraulic flow starts at the pump and ends up at the 3-point hitch. If the 3-point is OK, the pump is OK. The loader and next the remotes (if any) are in series between the pump and the 3-point. I advise the measure twice, cut once approach. In this case that means diagnostics (like checking hydraulic pressure) before you disassemble or replace anything. As folks said in my former life, the number one cause of required maintenance actions is previous maintenance actions.
