What a weekend. Saturday morning working the Jepe 354 OK, Saturday about 1 in the afternoon, everything turns to poop. While taking a break, the tractor was at idle and all of the sudden it started to smoke, lots of white smoke. I gave it some throttle and thought it would clear out and be OK, but the more throttle I gave it, the more it smoked and a great lack of power. To make a long story short, I asked several (EXPERTS) and the dealer what could be the problem. I heard any where from bad glow plug or plugs, broken or defective injector, plugged return line, bad fuel fileter (changed it twice) bad pump, broken valve, out of time, well, the list goes on and on. I tried the only thing I could think of with out replaceing the engine that would make it run white, or lack of compression, the compression release. I moved the lever back and forth several times pretty hard to make sure it was not dirty or not engaged. Restarted the engine and all is fine. /forums/images/graemlins/ooo.gif I had a water line to dig for a friend (150') and was about half way through when a hydrolic line broke on the backhoe /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif. A trip to the parts store on Monday and I hope all will be fine again. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
