Fixed this problem, The friction washer between the valve stem and the rocker arm had slipped over about 1/8 inch trapped between the rocker arm and valve stem not allowing the valve to close. I found this with a compression gauge, number 3 cyl. Tapped it back in place and adjusted the clearance. After mowing 20 acres it has happened again. Is the permanent fix new parts?
