I'm looking for a front end loader for a tn55. I will be traveling through several Eastern states. So I google New Holland Dealers and Bush Hog Dealers along my pathway. Those are the two FELs that I have looked at. I find there web site and the contact info. Then I e-mail them about my tractor and what they have for it. I have received only couple of quotes from about 10-15 emails.
Why have a web site with contact info for sales people?
Do they actually want you to call them? I like to have things like numbers in writing to refer back to.

I'm just trying to save on shipping, since I'm already traveling.

I think that most dealers have electric shock collars on, controlled by Fiat, that give them a jolt whenever they attempt to enter the computer age by doing something radical like email, or, horror of horrors, sell over the Internet. I believe there have been some posts that describe dealers getting spanked by New Holland for Internet sales. I don't think you will get much response unless you call them.

Many Ag sales folks have learned from their own experience that more deals close from walk-in and phone inquiries than from internet inquiries. It's all about making the best use of their time. There are dealerships that have different results, and dealerships that do more internet deals than others.

Not sure if the Dealer just want phone calls or walk-ins.

When I e-mail a dealer for a price of one of there products that they say they sell, and I get no response, it tells me that they are to busy to deal with me.

I just don't know if this is a New Holland policy or tractor sales practice. It just doesn't sound like good business.

Example: Why would Ridge view New Holland in Orange VA. have a web page where you fill out a form for a product to get a price quote. Then get e-Mailed by "Nancy" saying
thanks and a salesperson will contact you. Over a week and no contact by any salesperson, either e-mail or phone.
Bush Hog 2008 3545 Mid-Mount
this is only one example, a bunch of dealer use the same format.

Phone calls: When I called the local dealer(50 miles away) I gave t information of what loader I wanted and for what tractor. Then I was quizzed on what I was going to be doing. I said that he could e-mail the info to me, but he wanted to call me back. I really think this is a waste of "His" time I can BS all day long, what I really want is a price.

Since the local dealer stated he would charge to mount the FEL, and I was driving through areas with other dealers, I figured I would try the other dealers. How hard is it to state a price and to load a crate on a trailer.

If price is not aloud to be published (I hope I'm in the New Holland Buying/Pricing Forum) Then how do I know what to buy. I'm not driving to a dealer that does not give me any info.

I just might go to Corriher Implements in Newton N. C. They at least advertise there product with price.

New Holland Tractors, Bush Hog, New Holland Contruction Deals!

I Know they don't exist anymore. You can read several pages on buying local verses lower price.

Hope others don't experience this.

If your comming though the central PA area, we'd be glad to help. We do respond to our emails...

but in defense of other dealerships, all too often people use email to blast generic price requests to every dealer in the country hoping to get a response just a few dollars cheaper than what they can get localy. They then print that out and use it to beat down their local dealer. It happens to all of us. So the impression typically is that people emailing are simply wasting your time. We do a very nice business because of the internet, so we know this is not always the case... but it is the prevailing opinion.

It's not just tractor dealers that have technophobia over the use of email and the Internet. Anyway, I like email as it gives me a written reference of what I am inquiring about, and I can write the email when it's convenient for me.

I also hate the telephone.

Actually, you don't reply to all e-mails. I e-mailed about a year ago inquiring about a used tractor on your web site and never received a reply.

Woods LU132 in New Holland blue w/72" quick tach bucket
$5,100.00
price is good until the 30th then Woods is going to give another price increase.
One last thing this will not fit a super steer tractor if that aplies to your tractor.

Scott I agree with you whole heartedly. I prefer to deal in email because I have something in writing to take with me when I decide to make the purchase. I have bought a few autos this way, with negotiations taking place over email. There is no he said/she said later on. I think if they are going to have a web site then they should be willing to deal via the WEBSITE. If not DONT HAVE A WEBSITE. And I wont waste my time.

Dealers do you hear what wedge40 is saying if you do not want to reply by e-mail say so on your web site!!!! I don't have one(web site) at this time because I do not have the time to do it justice. So you can not have your cake and eat it!!!! If you have a web site and you allow for contact ---work it ---or take it off the site. Alot of e-mails are "lost" due to spam filters. Everyone understands that the internet is now full of junk mail. But a price is as good as the deal ----imagine if I charged more if you lived 200 miles or more away cause I know I will be on the phone trying to solve your problem instead of you walking into my store and "wasting" your time waiting for me to give you personal service.
