Trying to help a friend who has a Case DX33 which I understand to be basically the same as New Holland TC33. Was running fine previously then wouldn't start a few days ago - just cranked over. After googling and investigating interlocks, etc, I pulled the wire off of the fuel shut off solenoid and checked it. 12 volts while cranking or in run position. Hooked wire back up to solenoid - could hear/feel faint click when key was turned. Even ran a direct wire from battery to solenoid terminal and the sound/click was the same. Loosened an injector line and no fuel at all while cranking. Told him I need to do more research - seems like its not getting fuel but not sure why. Did not try the bleed screw but he didn't/hadn't run it anywhere near low on fuel.

Did more research and went back today to remove/test the fuel solenoid and make sure the plunger was moving properly. Also to check that the solenoid was getting 12 volts while still hooked up and under load. Checked solenoid voltage under load - 0 volts. Unhooked solenoid wire and checked it - 0 volts. Starting checking fuses. Second one up from the bottom was blown. Replaced the fuse with the solenoid wire still unhooked - blows instantly when the key is turned. He doesn't have any manuals or diagrams. Cant find online what this fuse (or any of them) are for.

Would like to approach this with some good info. Anyone got a diagram? Do I need to tell him to buy a factory service manual? I've read lots of info about the common 2nd fuse from the top blowing, the addition of a relay to solve that problem, etc. This seems to be a different problem.

These documents should help. On my New Holland which as I understand is a twin to the Case line the ignition switch failed early on with components melting inside it. I replaced it with a more robust design from NAPA. I also did the relay install on the starting circuit which solved many electrical issues for me.

Sounds like you have short somewhere.

Good luck and report back what you find to be the problem so others can learn.

Thank you very much. Have been wondering why has tractor had 7 fuses in the panel and 100% of the info I could find inline showed 5 fuses. This will help tremendously.

Well - I think I've been barking up the wrong tree. Went back today. Resolved electrical issues. Added the relay mod that so many others seem to have to have done. Fuel solenoid has 12 volts to it - engine cranks over fine but wont start. Removed solenoid and bench tested it - plunger pulls in when energized and looks fine. Reinstalled solenoid and checked bleed screw - steady stream of fuel with no air. Loosened one injector and cranked - no fuel. Loosened all 3 injectors and cranked - no fuel. Removed fuel shut-off solenoid and retested - working properly. Tried to start with fuel solenoid completely removed - no fuel at injector lines. Felt plunger inside injector pump with pinky finger where solenoid installs - felt normal. Light return spring pressure and smooth movement.

So - injector pump went bad just sitting there for a couple of days? Am I missing something? Any help will be much appreciated.
