I have a NH 1725 with about 260 hrs on it (had 240 on it when i got it). I drove it to my nieghbors to purchase and pickup a used finish mower. This is the first time I have used the tractor at high rpms for more than a minute or two. On the way I started hearing a ticking sort of noise above the normal disel noise. When i decreased the rpms the noise went away. Increase them it comes back. No noticable loss of power or extra smoking or anything. I keep a check on oil it has been full since I bought it. The only thing that I haven't seen before is when I check the oil right after running the tractor, there are bubbles in the oil on the dip stick. Don't know if that is normal. The next day I started using my mower same thing. After a couple minutes I heard the noise. No loss in power, tractor didn't even know the 5ft mower was back there. Let up on the throttle noise goes away. Any advice? Does this sound like a normal thing? This noise worries me a little because it is a distinct noise over the normal noise. Is this something I should have checked out before something breaks down? any advice would be appreciated.
