Noise in transmission area of International 444.

1971 IH 444. I've got a noise coming from the transmission area (near the floor-boards), it's continuous and about the same speed as the PTO. It stops if I press the clutch all the way down to the floor at the 2nd stage to stop the PTO. Does not increase with RPM or change with any gear level. Does not change if I have the PTO in or out.

Any ideas?

Maybe clutch throwout bearing going out? Ken Sweet

Check clutchpedal freetravel ...if none sound will be there .

Wanted to bump this thread back up, I've still got the noise. I've adjusted the clutch per the owners manual, which wasnt much adjustment.

Any other ideas as to what could be making this noise?
