Just wondering how the steering works... here's a not so good vid showing the mid section

I see tierod ends, but not hydraulic cylinders... so it must be some type of mechanical linkage from the steering wheel. At first I assumed they must have been running a hydraulic pump off of the engine's output on a shaft, then a centrifical clutch after that for propultion... but I guess not. Any ideas? I must build this! :)

Looks like a rack and pinion, moving forward and backwards.

They look like very cool rigs, in that first video it looks sooooo cooooold, I'll take mine with a side of cab and heat! :)
I'll give those Russians credit, they come up with some wild and functional rigs.
Where do they get those tires?

Thank you Bruce! That's exactly what it looks like. Now, the center looks like a steering knuckle!?! I guess that makes sence...

Dave; Agreed that a cab would be in oder. I don't know where they get the tires, but I have a cheap sourse for 16.00R20 Michelin XZL tires (53")... and 14 bolt axles can be had for cheap and they're plenty tough.... I also have ford NP435 and NP205s stuffed in the shed that would be great for this type of build. :)

Get the welder out NS Gearhead!
I wish I had more time and money to build some of this stuff.

The Mrs and I were talking about just that the other day, and the thing about it is; everyone has something that others look at and say; I wish I could afford to do/buy/have/build that... but they've had to go without something else to get it. For example; we have friends down the rd that kind of joke that I've got "all the toys" and he'd love to... but they've been on three vacations this year! I can't afford to go on big vacations because my toys are more of a priority to me, just like they can't afford toys because vacations are more to them. Off the top of my head between the dump trailer, go kart, and Tracker I've got around $4,000... and that's been over three years. About two "down south" vacations for two people. Of course my priority's shifted since having my daughter and building my home... with the Jeep I wanted nothing but the best regardless of price... now I think; how can I get something awesome for as cheap as I can. LOL

...and as far as time goes; I'm a shift worker, so I get weekdays off where the Mrs is at work and the little one's in daycare... so that's when I usually work on projects. The other side of that coin is that on weekends when they're doing fun things you're stuck at work.. holidays too.

Ok, I'm done preaching. LOL It wasn't directed at you dave, you just reminded me of what the Mrs and I were talking about the other day and thought most here could relate.
