Welcome to TBN! There's quite a number of NS folks on here. Are you in the highlands where "Les Suetes" howl? They were talking 160 kph gusts up there! That 25 cm could get piled into some fun drifts!

So far the storm is a 'bit of a wash' in Antigonish County. Snow melts faster than it collects - not that I'm complaining, still plenty of winter still to come.

There is 2 feet of wet sticky,heavy snow down here and still snowing,plowed the driveway out twice today. Public road not plowed yet,have at least 6 driveways to plow tomorrow,early in the am, the little CK25 is going to get a real workout, I think I am almost convinced to get a set of chains,and I am now convinced I need a cab.

I hear ya on the Cab for sure. That is certainly on my wish list. Chains first though!

Well, Cumberland County on the Northumberland Shore has maybe a foot but it's just a huge mushy mess. And here here on the tire chains! I have R4s and slid on that mush sideways, nestling nicely in between a couple of trees offf to the edge of my nicely crowned driveway. A bit of maneuvering and using the diff lock just barely got me out! Even just pushing this stuff on flat ground made the tires spin. I am thinking there is lots of winter to come yet too, so I think I'll visit my dealer tomorrow and see if he can get me some tire chains.

I had to go next door to use their internet, as my wireless antenna way up on my roof is covered in wet snow and killed the signal. Hopefully it'll get windy again and blow it off!

About an hour after I last posted yesterday I was eating my words. We got lots of high wind, but until 9am this morning little in the way of snow. Lost the power from 11pm last night 'til 4pm this afternoon. The computer UPS ran lights for us last night, and the woodstove cooked the meals.

Ended up with 3 inches of snow which I took a 'swipe' at in case the rain turns it into ice. The 1 1/2" ABS pipe that I put on yesterday worked out fine, as the frost is well out of the ground. Gotta back off the down pressure on the rear-blade though - it melted somewhat and became a flat bottomed pipe.

No chance it's turning to ice for a few days anyway, it's mush mush mush right now. Really wet. But that storm surge really kicked some coastal areas. The attached pic is at Port Elgin, on the Northumberland shore. The beige cottage used to face the opposite direction. And you can see the bare foundations where there buildings until 2 days ago. Many boats were damaged or lost. I heard they declared a state of emergency in that area.
